SupportShould Sugar Be Completely Cut Out If You Have Cancer?

Can Cancer Outsmart a Sugar-Free Diet?
Cancer cells grow rapidly and need sugar for energy. But even if dietary sugar is eliminated, they adapt. As Dr. Vijay Agarwal explains, cancer begins sourcing sugar directly from the body by breaking down fat stores first and then muscle tissue to extract what it needs.
This means that removing sugar from meals does not actually starve cancer. The body ensures that sugar remains available, even at the expense of its own tissues. Cutting sugar completely can, in fact, weaken the body during a time when strength and nourishment are most critical.
What to Focus on Instead of Fear-Based Restrictions
Rather than strict avoidance, maintaining balanced nutrition helps the body stay resilient and better equipped for treatment. Moderation is wise, but eliminating sugar entirely is not recommended and does more harm than good.
