What is Blood Picture (Peripheral Blood Smear) test?
A peripheral blood smear is a test/procedure in which a sample of blood is viewed under a microscope to count different circulating blood cells (red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, etc.) and see whether the cells look normal.
Why get the Blood Picture (Peripheral Blood Smear) test?
The blood smear test is often done to diagnose conditions that are causing: unexplained jaundice. unexplained anemia (low levels of normal red blood cells), abnormal bruising, and other conditions
