What is Blood Group ABO & RH Factor (Blood Grouping) test?
A person's Blood group is determined by the chemical compounds present on the red Blood cells and Plasma. These compounds are glycoProtein (made of carbohydrates and Proteins) that react with respective Antibodies and agglutinate.
Why get the Blood Group ABO & RH Factor (Blood Grouping) test?
To determine compatibility with donated blood before receiving a transfusion of blood or blood components at the time of donating blood, tissue, organ, or bone marrow or getting registered as a potential donor. Or to determine the risk of Rh factor incompatibility between the mother and fetus before pregnancy or during pregnancy.
When to take this test?
