The Fasting Blood Sugar (FBS) test is a blood test that measures the level of glucose in your blood after you have not eaten for at least 8 hours. Glucose is the body's main source of energy, and its level is normally kept in a narrow range by insulin; when that control is impaired, the fasting value rises.
