What is Anti Mullerian Hormone (AMH) test?
Anti-Mullerian Hormone (AMH), also known as Mullerian-inhibiting substance, is associated with fertility. It is produced by Sertoli cells of the testis in men, and by ovarian granulosa cells in women. The Anti-Mullerian Hormone (AMH) test is used to evaluate ovarian function (follicular reserve) and fertility in women. It is also used in evaluating Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome/Disease (PCOS/PCOD), predicting the onset of menopause, and in assisted reproductive procedures.
