What is Microfilaria Detection (MF) test?
Filariasis is a parasitic disease. These are spread by blood-feeding insects such as black flies and mosquitoes. The embryos circulate in lymphatic tissues and blood as microfilaria leading to lymphangitis, lymphadenitis, elephantiasis, and tropical eosinophilia. The test detects the presence of microfilaria in the blood.
What happens during this test?
Malarial infections are fairly common and doctors frequently encounter those with symptoms. Early diagnosis and correct management of the infection will prevent complications that could arise.
When to take this test?
Blood Sample should collect between 10pm to early morning 4pm
