What is CA 15.3 (Breast Cancer Marker) test?

Cancer Antigen 15-3 (CA 15-3) is a Protein that is produced by normal breast cells. However, when CA 15-3 is present in the blood in high levels, it may indicate the presence of tumor cells. Hence, this test is considered as a Blood test for breast cancer, but would not be the only test ordered by your doctor to screen for breast cancer.
