    Lipoprotein (a), written as Lp(a), is a special type of cholesterol‑carrying particle in the blood. High levels are largely determined by your genes and are linked to a higher risk of heart disease and stroke, independent of regular cholesterol levels. The Lp(a) test measures the amount of Lipoprotein (a) in your blood. It helps identify people with an inherited tendency for early heart disease.

    Before the Test

    Fasting is often preferred if Lp(a) is done along with a full lipid profile, but not strictly necessary for Lp(a) alone (follow your lab/doctor’s instructions).

    Inform your doctor about kidney disease, uncontrolled thyroid problems, or recent major illness, as these may influence lipids.

    Lifestyle changes (diet, exercise, no smoking) are still essential even though Lp(a) is genetic; lowering overall heart risk is the main goal.

The lady executive called me up and took some details, was very polite and professional. The exexutive came in just 01 hour which was very fast. He was very humble and polite.
