The Potassium test measures the amount of potassium, an essential mineral, in the blood. Potassium (K+) is critical for various functions, including regulating heartbeats, enabling nerve transmission, and facilitating muscle movements, as well as helping to maintain fluid balance in the body. This test is commonly requested as part of an electrolyte panel during regular medical check-ups or when signs of potassium imbalance are suspected. It holds particular importance for those with conditions like kidney disease, high blood pressure, or heart problems, as these conditions can affect potassium levels. If potassium levels become abnormal—either elevated (hyperkalaemia) or decreased (hypokalaemia)—it can result in serious health risks if left untreated.

A Potassium test in Pune offers a simple way to check your potassium levels and helps ensure your body's mineral balance is in check, promoting better health.
