What is Lipid Profile test?
The lipid profile test is a combination of tests conducted together to check for any risks of coronary heart disease. Within the Lipid profile, it also checks for High density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) - “ good cholesterol”, and Low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) -“ bad cholesterol”
Why get the Lipid Profile test?
To assess your risk of developing cardiovascular disease (CVD); to monitor treatment of unhealthy lipid levels
When to take this test?
Frequency to repeat test
Every 6 months
Precautions to be taken before for the test
Do not eat or drink anything except water at least 10 to 12 hours before the test.
