The CRP test involves a simple blood draw. A healthcare professional will clean the skin over a vein, typically in your arm, with an antiseptic and apply a tourniquet to make the vein more visible. Using a sterile needle, they will draw a small sample of blood, which is then collected into a vial or tube. The procedure is quick, lasting about 5–10 minutes. Afterward, the needle is removed, and the puncture site is covered with a small bandage. The sample is sent to a laboratory, where CRP levels are measured using specialized equipment. Results are usually available within 24–48 hours. The test is minimally invasive, and the risks are minimal. If you feel anxious or uncomfortable, let the technician know so they can assist in making you feel at ease.
