What is VDRL test?
The Venereal Disease Research Laboratory (VDRL) is a test to screen for Syphilis. Syphilis is a Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD), which can be detected by the VDRL test. This test detects antibodies produced by the body in response to the antigens produced by the cells damaged by the bacteria Treponema pallidum. A positive VDRL test will be followed by the TPHA (Treponema pallidum Haemagglutination) test and the Syphilis card test.
Why get the VDRL test?
Those with Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs) would feel pain in the loin region and experience difficulties during urination. Infections would be accompanied by an increased urge for urination, cloudy/foul-smelling urine, and other symptoms like fever with chills, nausea, vomiting, and fatigue. The urine culture would be recommended to diagnose a urinary tract infection. Urine culture helps in identifying the organism causing the infection and helps doctors choose the appropriate antibiotic to fight against the infection.

What our customers say about us

I normally have an issue with my veins as they are very thin but the technician was experienced and the sample came out in one shot at the first attempt, which really reassured me.
