What is Estradiol (E2) test?
The estradiol test would be ordered to measure estrogen levels. It could be also administered to monitor infertility treatment or detect menopause. During pregnancy, it may be asked to test the fetal-placental status during the beginning of the first trimester.
Why get the Estradiol (E2) test?
Oestrogen level is assessed when there is abnormal vaginal bleeding or lack of menstrual periods. It is also administered during part of infertility treatment to check treatment progress. The estradiol test may be ordered during pregnancy, along with progesterone to monitor the health of the placenta and developing baby, especially in high-risk pregnancies.
