What is Luteinising Hormone (LH) test?
Luteinizing Hormone (LH) is produced by the anterior part of the pituitary gland. Elevation of LH levels could indicate ovulation in females. In males, the LH stimulates the secretion of testosterone from the Leydig cells of the testis. It is secreted in a pulsatile manner.
Why get the Luteinising Hormone (LH) test?
The LH test is recommended for women who are experiencing difficulties in conception or face irregular or heavy menstrual periods. By tracking the process of ovulation (release of the egg from the ovary) during the menstrual cycle, doctors can assess your reproductive health and diagnose any conditions early.
